PARISH MISSION STATEMENT

Our Parish Pastoral Council reflects our Mission Statement which is

that the parish of St. Fergal’s, Ballywaltrim will be

A  Christian Community that is open and welcoming to all……………

Where we recognize, experience and celebrate the presence of God among us in listening to the Word of God, in the celebration and worship of the Eucharist and in our love and service of one another.

Where we participate fully and actively in the various ministries and in all aspects of the running of the parish according to each one’s gifts and talents, believing that the Spirit is alive among us.

A Parish that strives to find new ways to meet changing needs.

WHAT THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL DOES

Our Parish Pastoral Council:

.     Discerns the needs of the parish community and involves the whole parish in responding to those needs;

.     Provides structures that will match the needs of the parish with the available gifts and resources;

.     Reflects on and plans the future direction of the parish and prioritises the initiatives to be undertaken;

.     Ensures that effective dialogue takes place within and outside the parish;

.     Enables parishioners to discover their calling as Christ’s Disciples by discerning their gifts and developing them through training and on-going formation;

.     Reviews the life and activities of the parish so that parishioners gain a sense of fostering Christ’s mission.
